PhD Student, Music Theory
Connor Davis is a graduate student in the MCCL@LSU. His research is interdisciplinary, combining music theory, jazz theory and performance, musicology, and music cognition. Specifically, he has focused on rhythm and meter, the application of Schenkerian theory to jazz performance and perception, and he is currently pursing work in musical change, aesthetics, and preference. He holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Theory from the University of Arkansas, a Master of Music in Music Theory from Michigan State University, and a Master of Arts in Instrumental Performance (jazz emphasis) from Eastern Illinois University.
